Treat yourself in the new year to a fabulous new yarn bowl – made by you! Emily Cross Ceramics offers a beautiful range of tools for textile artists including super-useful yarn bowls, which stop your wool from rolling away as you knit, and look stunning doing it!
Emily also runs workshops so crafty types can learn to make their own porcelain goodies, and Simply Crochet editor Sara Huntington was lucky enough to go to a special preview workshop.
“As well as having the chance to trim and decorate our own yarn bowls to take home, we were able to make and glaze ceramic buttons to adorn our crochet and knitwear, and create delicate porcelain pin dishes with nifty magnets to hold pins and needles safely in place. Under Emily’s expert guidance, we also had a go at throwing mugs on the potter’s wheel.”
We’ve got one six-hour workshop for two people to give away, worth £200. The workshop will take place between 11–19th January 2020, and winners will be able to throw a mug, trim a yarn bowl or decorate a ready-trimmed bowl, as well as make some extra crafty goodies such as porcelain buttons or pin dishes.
