We love Novita and their gorgeous Finnish style. You may have spotted that our Moomin in issue 83 is made in their beautiful Muumit yarn (one of three of their special Moomin yarn). They have recently released another new yarn range – NOVITA 7 VELJESTÄ (7 Brothers)
7 Brothers is a classic 100g yarn that is more than 45 years old, made up of a 75 % wool/25 % polyamid blend. It is named after the novel Seitsemän veljestä (Seven Brothers), written in 1870 by Aleksis Kivi. The book is a staple of Finnish literature, and it was the first major novel written in Finnish.
The Novita 7 Brothers yarn was created when Novita customers requested a somewhat thicker yarn to complement the popular Novita Nalle yarn. At first, the yarn came in seven neutral colours, each named after one of the brothers in the novel.
As with all of Novita’s wool, it is sourced and produced in the Northern Hemisphere. 7 Brother yarn is available in a range of vibrant colours inspired by nature’s wild gifts, such as lingonberries, sea buckthorn, cloudberries, blueberries and raspberries.
