Happy 40th to The Snowman

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Raymond Briggs’ classic book, The Snowman, Simply Crochet designer Ilaria Caliri (@airali_gray) has recreated this iconic character for you to crochet, in a gorgeous wool cotton yarn for soft snuggles. The amigurumi method creates a beautiful shape and the finished creation is the perfect gift for fans young and old this Christmas.

The Snowman was released in 1978 and has a place in many family Christmas traditions, and this crocheted version is the perfect handmade gift for young fans of the original picture book and the 1982 animation. To mark the anniversary, acclaimed children’s author Michael Morpurgo has reimagined the story as a novel of the same name.

The Snowman is out now with Penguin Books, RRP £12.99. Visit www.thesnowman.com for more information. Happy 40th Birthday!
