In Simply Crochet issue 69 you’ll find our new Hook to Hook designer challenge, and this issue it features designs by Vicki Roberts and Charlotte Hawksworth.
“We can never have enough bags, right? I wanted to design something that will be quick and easy to make for crocheters of any skill level: an intermediate crocheter could hook this bag up in an afternoon”, Vicki told us, “…and because the design is constructed from squares, it can be completed one-by-one, so it’s great for beginners to hone their skills. Plus, I wanted to use pre-bought handles for ease of carrying.” See more of Vicki’s designs at www.offthehookforyou.co.uk and www.ravelry.com/designers/vicki-roberts
“My boho-style bag pattern was inspired by African tribal prints and geometric fashion,” Charlotte explained, “I wanted to adapt these bold prints to create a crochet pattern that almost looks like a print. I think this bag will be the perfect accessory to a simple outfit. I absolutely love this yarn! The denim cotton gives a strong, structural tessellation a softer, stonewashed and organic look.” See more on Instagram @lovecharlie.co or at www.lovecharlie.co
You can vote for your favourite of these two designs on our Simply Crochet Instagram page – double tap and comment on the one you prefer. And one lucky reader will win all the DY Choice Fruity DK yarn that you need to make the project.
The competition closes on Wednesday 28th March 2018 at 1 pm, and for full terms and conditions click here.
