Crochet designer challenge: vote for your favourite crochet pattern in our new Hook to Hook competition

In Simply Crochet issue 68 you’ll find our new Hook to Hook designer challenge, and this issue it features designs by Sharna Moore and Louise Smith.

Designer Sharna blogs at and shares her designs on her Instagram @sweet_sharna. “The inspiration behind this wreath pattern came from a beautiful oral egg-shaped gift box with a huge giant ribbon bow tied around the middle, like the giant bow on my wreath,” Sharna told us, “I love using cotton yarn to crochet with, and would absolutely use this yarn again. My go-to colours are always yellow and pink, but it was fun to add green and blue which are out of my comfort zone.”

Louise, who’s on Instagram as @flutterlou923, is a big fan of all things cutesie. She told us: “I couldn’t resist the idea of hooking little bunny bums with cotton tails for Easter! I didn’t want to overpower the wreath with too many mixes of colours so I kept the eggs to blue, and the flowers to a max of two colours. I also didn’t want to have too many of any one element, so I started with the leaves and once I had covered the wreath with those, I tried to place flowers and eggs around sparingly.”

You can vote for your favourite of these two designs on our Simply Crochet Instagram page – double tap on the one you prefer. And one lucky reader will win all the DY Choice Cotton Fresh DK yarn that you need to make the project.

The competition closes on Wednesday 28th February 2018 at 1 pm, and for full terms and conditions click here.
