One of our favourite local yarn shops, Wool in Bath, has announced that they’re holding a yarn sale fundraiser – and some rather big names have already jumped on board to support them!
Laura, who is the owner of Wool, wanted to support her friend Toyah, whose daughter Margot has been diagnosed with a mitochondrial condition called Alpers, which sadly means it is unlikely she will reach two years old. Toyah is an optometrist in London but hasn’t left Great Ormond Street since June. This means she is unable to work and, as a single parent, has had to make huge adjustments.
“The idea is to take away the annoying financial worry for Toyah and allow her to spend all her time with Margot without a clouded brain filled with money worries.”
Wool will be holding the yarn sale on 21st October and will be selling the yarn cheaply to encourage people to part with their hard-earned cash! Since announcing the fundraiser on Instagram they have received donations from suppliers near and far including Chester Wool Co, West Yorkshire Spinners, Bergere de France and Debbie Bliss. Plus there’s more on the way from the likes of King Cole, Rowan, Adriafil and more.
But even if you’re unable to attend the shop on 21st October, Wool will also be running an online raffle on their Instagram which has been supported by Little Box of Crochet, Emma Leith and Just Pootling, with more to be confirmed.
So keep an eye on their Instagram for updates, head along on the day, dig deep, and get yourself some lovely yarn while doing something good!
