Crochet Adventure in Austria

Experience the scenic splendours and tradition of the Austrian Tyrol

Arena Travel have announced a special 7 day Stitchtopia crochet holiday amidst the picture-postcard scenery of the Austrian Tyrol. Enjoy crochet workshops led by Sarah Hazell and discover a landscape of green pastures, onion-domed churches and craggy alpine peaks.
Tyrol is a western Austrian state in the Alps that’s known for its ski resorts, historic sites and folk traditions. Along the way explore Innsbruck with its atmospheric Old Town and the charming village of Pertisau, perched on the shores of Lake Achensee. You’ll also cross over the border into Bavaria for a visit to the fairytale castle of Neuschwanstein and the enchanting village of Oberammergau, home of the passion play.
This classic region is also renowned for its unique heritage and fine craftsmanship. Throughout the holiday you’ll explore the importance and history of typical Tyrolean costume and textiles with museum and traditional clothing store visits. You’ll also visit glassblowing and wood carving workshops and discover a more contemporary world of glass with a visit to Swarovski Crystal Worlds.

The tutor accompanying you on this adventure will be knitting and crochet designer Sarah Hazell. Sarah has a passion for beautiful yarn and textiles and is fascinated by colour, pattern and texture. Her stand-alone collections are designed with an emphasis on the creation of sustainable clothes and accessories. Sarah is a regular contributor to Knitting, Making and Let’s Knit magazine and also a published author of several knitting and crochet books.

The adventure costs £1395 per person and runs from 14 – 21st October 2017. More information can be found here or to book by phone call 01473 633 506.
