In Simply Crochet issue 53 you’ll find our first Hook to Hook designer challenge, with Emma Potter and Kath Webber’s designs. They were both given one skein of Debbie Bliss yarn and challenged to design an accessory.
Potter and Bloom stitcher Emma Potter is one busy bee. When she’s not dreaming up exciting and oh-so vibrant crochet designs, she’s teaching people how to hook, celebrating fellow crafters via the @crochetgirlgang Instagram account or filming and uploading her yarny podcast videos. For our first ever Hook to Hook challenge, Emma has designed this cosy hat using just one skein of Debbie Bliss Falkland Aran yarn. You can find Emma online at www.potterandbloom.com.
Kath Webber is a vintage-loving crochet designer, with a passion for yarn and polka dots. She’s also a lady of many talents. As well as being a regular Simply Crochet contributor, she’s a features writer and editor, blogger, crochet tutor and sewist. Oh, and she knits as well. Phew! For our first ever Hook to Hook challenge, Kath has designed this pair of fingerless mitts using just one skein of Debbie Bliss Falkland Aran yarn. Head to www.kathwebbercrochet.blogspot.co.uk to find out more about Kath and her makes.
You can vote for your favourite of these two designs on our Simply Crochet Instagram page – double tap on the one you prefer. And one lucky reader will win the skein of Debbie Bliss Falkland Aran 100% wool that you need to make the project, in this scrumptious Teal shade.
The competition closes on Wednesday 11th January 2017 at 1pm, and for full terms and conditions click here.
