Yarnspiration is a day of workshops, lunch, shopping (and cake!), all raising money for charity. It was started last year by yarnaholic Natasha Seidel, and it’s back for 2015, taking place on Saturday 20 June from 9am to 5pm, at The Make Studio in High Wycombe. All the tutors are volunteers, and all profits will go to the National Autistic Society and Medicin Sans Frontiers.
Tickets cost £15 for entry to the marketplace, lunch, cake, tea/coffee and a goody bag. Or for £60 you can add two half-day workshops, (plus the goody bag, lunch, cake and tea/coffee); in the morning you can choose from weaving or yarn dyeing, and in the afternoon the options are needle felting or mixed media collage.
- The needle felting workshop will be run by Claire Davies from Aisling Designs, who knits and crochets as well as needle felting.
- The yarn dyeing workshop is led by Jill Mint-Maung from Sable Yarns, who is a very experienced independent dyer.
- The weaving workshop will be run by event organiser Natasha, from Taking a Moment in Time.
- The mixed media collage workshop is led by Sarah Haycock from Sarah Notes; you can follow her on Instagram @sarahnotes.
There will be stalls selling different types of yarny goodness.
