All about issue 17

Spring is here, so come rain or shine we’re hooking bright and beautiful handmade treats. Crochet lacy raindrop accessories in the brightest blues, or go rainbow and make the most adorable technicoloured sausage dog with yarn from your stash. Hook top blogger Wink’s rainbow mandala, and there’s a pair of colourful stripy socks to make, too. Sweet.

When it’s sunny outside, we’re raring to get out on our bikes. Festoon yours with bunting, gorgeous cabbage roses, a fabulous skirt guard and more from our cycle style collection. A cool cotton vest top is also a must for warmer days, and this issue’s design has a dainty doily set in the back – beautiful.

Rainy day? Curl up and read all about the female yarn bombers hooking it big, find out what inspires designer and interiors stylist Illaria Chiaratti and see what Attic 24’s Lucy is loving this month. There’s a heap of awesome projects to be getting on with, too – a glittering geometric cowl, bright floral bunting and a hoodie for a little one. If you love to embellish, then you’re in luck. Make a jewel-coloured collar with pom-poms and crochet Joanne Scrace’s vintage-style fascinator for the wedding season. If you flip to our workshop section you can learn how to hook with beads.

Plus, don’t miss your chance to enter our fab giveaway to win your very own Dawes Duchess Heritage bicycle and all of the gorgeous Casade Ultra Pima yarn you’ll need to hook the seven chic cycling projects from this issue. Turn to page 13 for details on how to enter.

Happy hooking! SC x
