YOU WILL NEED

Any DK cotton, such as Rowan Handknit Cotton (100% cotton, 50g/85m), 1 ball China Rose (366)

A 4mm (US G/6) hook

Brooch pin
Sewing needle and thread

MEASUREMENTS

7cm (2¾in) diameter

 

Ch4, ss to first ch to join into a ring.

Round 1 Ch1 (does not count as st), 10dc into the ring, ss to first ch to join. [10 dc]

Round 2 Ch1 (does not count as st), *dc into next st, ch3, skip 1 dc; repeat from * another 4 times, ss to first dc. [5 dc, 5 ch-3 sp]

Round 3 *Ss into next ch-3 sp, ch3, 5ttr, ch3, ss into same ch-3 sp; repeat from * another 4 times. [5 petals]

Round 4 *Dc around the next dc from Rnd 2 as follows: insert the hook into the ch-3 sp before the next dc from Rnd 2, bring the hook back to front of work in the ch-3 sp on the other side of the dc, and complete the dc stitch as usual, ch3. Repeat from * another 4 times, ss to first dc. [5 dc, 5 ch-3 sp in front of the petals from Rnd 3]

Round 5 *Ss into next ch-3 sp, ch2, 5dtr, ch2, ss into same ch-3 sp; repeat from * another 4 times. [5 petals]
Fasten off. 

Sew brooch pin to the back.
