Free pattern! Gnome keyring from Annemarie

Annemarie’s Haakblog is a wonderful place to spend time and pick up inspiration for new projects. So we were thrilled when Annemarie agreed to stop by and share this adorable pattern for a pocket gnome with us. Enjoy!

Materials needed:

  • Red, white, off-white and blue yarn
  • Black embroidery thread
  • A crochet hook size 2.5mm
  • Fyberfill stuffing

Abbreviations:

CH: chain

SC: single crochet

SL ST: slip stitch

HDC: half double crochet

DEC: decrease

INC: increase

Gnome

With red

1. Make 6 SC in a magic ring.

2. SC6.

3. SC1, increase in the next stitch. Repeat around. (9)

4. SC9.

5. SC2, increase in the next stitch. Repeat around. (12)

6. SC12.

With off-white

7. SC12.

8. SC3, increase in the next stitch. Repeat around. (15)

9. SC4, increase in the next stitch. Repeat around. (18)

10. SC4, decrease in the next stitch. Repeat around. (15)

11. SC3, decrease in the next stitch. Repeat around. (12)

12. Decrease around. (6)

With blue

13. Increase around. (12)

14. 12SC.

15. 1SC, increase in the next stitch. (18)

16. 18SC.

19. 24SC.

20. 24SC.

Fasten off.

Beard

With white

1. Chain 5.

2. SC4, chain 1.

4. Skip the 1st stitch, SC1, skip the next stitch, SC1. Chain 1.

6. SC1 in the 2nd stitch.

Fasten off.

Eyes

With black

Just make a small knot and embroider it on the gnome’s face.

Nose

With off-white

1. Chain 2.

2. 4SC in the first chain stitch.

3. 4SC.

Fasten off.
